Yonder partners with Smart Pensions to make workplace pensions simpler for international employers
Yonder, the Irish fintech automating health insurance and retirement benefits, has partnered with Smart Pensions to bridge the gap between international employers and their remote workers.
Using both companies’ APIs, the partnership will provide international employers with a digital way to set up and manage workplace pensions for UK-based employees that is compliant with UK auto-enrolment law.
So regardless of where a company is based, and whether it has a UK bank account, it will be able to give their UK-based employees a full benefits package.
“After the success of our workplace pension partnership in Ireland, we were keen to support UK-based employees quickly, and Smart Pension is the perfect fit for us,” Yonder co-founder and CEO Luke Mackey said.
“Their digital-first approach to pensions aligned with our core values. I’m excited that Yonder is engaging with the highest-quality providers to expand its presence in local markets.”
Yonder’s all-in-one platform automates health insurance and retirement benefits for employers, allowing employees to create and manage their benefits through an app.
It raised a €2.6m pre-seed round from Northzone, Frontline, Cocoa and other investors last year, and has since invested the money in product development and market expansion.
The partnership with Smart is Yonder’s second workplace retirement offering since it launched earlier in the year.
“At Smart Pension, we’ve always put employers and members first so we were very excited at the opportunity to work with another fintech disruptor focussed on the employee benefits market,” Smart director of strategic partnerships Chris Glanton said.
“Making retirement accessible is a priority for us and this partnership and technology integration really supports this.”
Smart’s pension platform currently supports companies ranging from SMEs to those with tens of thousands of employees, making it well-positioned to serve Yonder’s range of clients.
