Los sistemas de pensiones en México están compuestos por distintos regímenes o subsistemas que generan diferencias en los beneficios que cada uno otorga (Vázquez Colmenares, 2012).

Para efectos de este boletín, dividimos a las pensiones en contributivas y no contributivas, aunque existen
otras clasificaciones de estudio como pensiones de reparto y cuentas individuales.

En el Presupuesto de Egresos de la Federación (PEF) para 2023 se planea destinar a todo tipo de pensiones 1.7 billones de pesos; 78.5 % corresponde a pensiones contributivas, mientras que 21.5 % sería para financiar las pensiones no contributivas.

El objetivo de este boletín es analizar la distribución de estos recursos entre hombres y mujeres, entender las implicaciones de tal distribución y la importancia de generar políticas públicas con perspectiva de género.
