UK. Cross-industry Pension Attention campaign unveiled

The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) have unveiled the ‘Pension Attention’ campaign slogan and logo, ahead of the campaign launch in September.

Plans for the campaign were initially announced in April 2022, with over 30 million pension savers to be targeted in an effort to boost people’s understanding of and engagement with their pensions.

It has received “unprecedented” cross industry support from 17 providers, including 13 sponsors and four official supporters, with those involved also working closely with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Money and Pensions Service (Maps).

The newly announced Pension Attention initiative is the first season in the three-year campaign, and will run from September to November, with the aim of breaking the public’s lack of interest and making pensions a talking point for people in their everyday lives.

Using the slogan ‘pay your pension some attention’, the campaign will look to help savers understand where their money is, and the simple steps they can take to keep better track of it.

Commenting on the unveiling, Pension Attention campaign manager, Sarah Cordey, commented: “There are a thousand things competing for people’s attention right now, which is why we’re ready to shout louder: It’s time to pay your pension some attention.

“Money you put into a pension is yours to use in the future, and for most people it’s boosted by your employer and the government.

“We want to help everyone understand where their money is and the simple steps they can take to keep track of it. There’s lots to come from the Pension Attention campaign, which starts in September, so watch this space.”
