Ernesto Brodersohn - Founder and Honorary Board Member
Ernesto is the Founder and CEO of Pension Policy International and independent consultant engaged in various projects for the pension fund management industry. From 2003 through 2016 he worked at Consar, the pension’s supervisory and regulatory authority in Mexico, where held the position of General Director of Regulation and Financial Inclusion. He was responsible for regulatory changes and implementation of pension regulation reforms including the public-sector pension reform of 2007 and various regulatory amendments focused on reducing overall long term financial sector expenses while providing safety and facilitating overall processes for individuals. He coordinated the pension related reforms with the different Social Security Institutes. Before becoming a regulator, he was a consultant for more than 8 years in different firms in the US. He has participated in countless conferences with the World Bank, as well as in events from the the International Center for Pension Management, Inter-American Development Bank, among others. He is a lecturer at internationally renowned courses such as the Core Course on Pensions for the World Bank, and New Paradigms of Financial Inclusion for the Boulder Institute of Microfinance. He holds a Masters degree from the University of Southern California (USC), and a Bachelors degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Víctor Baeza - CEO
Victor Baeza is a strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience in the Financial System in Mexico, having worked at several institutions, such as Pension Fund Administrators, Banks, Brokerage and CONSAR, the Mexican Pension System’s Regulator.
During his years as a regulator, Victor was Vice President of Operations of the CONSAR, contributing to the modernization of the Retirement Savings System through the implementation of digital services and processes that placed the System as a worldwide benchmark.
Omar Nieto - Chief Editor
Omar Nieto has built a career in the Financial Industry since 2008, specializing in Pensions, Financial Inclusion and Microfinance. He worked for over 3 years for Consar, the Mexican National Commission for Pensions Regulation, in charge of implementing and developing third pillar saving mechanisms allowing customers complement mandatory savings through voluntary savings mechanisms. He developed regulatory changes focused on facilitating interaction between Pension Fund Administrators and their customers. Omar Nieto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics specialized in Microfinance from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a Master’s degree in Finance by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (中南财经政法大学).
