La mano de obra del sector público envejece a un fuerte ritmo. Un nuevo desafío

En los últimos diez años se ha producido un envejecimiento general de la masa laboral. La edad media del conjunto se sitúa ahora en 43,4 años; era 40,0 diez años antes. Pero llama la atención el fuerte envejecimiento de la rama de actividad Administración pública: 47,1 años. La principal causa de este envejecimiento es el avance de la onda del baby boom que eleva la edad media de la población en general.

La crisis económica de 2008 introduce cambios en la dinámica general del proceso al expulsar mucha mano de obra, especialmente en edades jóvenes, lo que eleva la edad media de la fuerza laboral. Últimos datos de la Encuesta de Población Activa.
