Spain. Rajoy subordinates the improvement of pensions to budgets

The President of government, Mariano Rajoy, has advanced in plenary of Congress that will raise lower pensions and concentrate income tax for pensioners and families, as well as an improvement in minimum pensions and widowhood. It will in budgets of 2018, thus passing ball to opposition to imply it in approval of budgets, an objective that is not guaranteed by two principal supports of Government: citizens and PNV.

But Rajoy has made his red lines clear: He will not touch reform of 2013, that is to say, revaluation of pensions according to evolution of prices as y claim pensioners in street and opposition in Pact of Toledo.

After having rejected up to five initiatives of opposition to revalorize pensions with support of citizens, and with pensioners heating street by increase of 0, 25% in ir remunerations, Mariano Rajoy faces most political plenary of XII Legislature. For president of Government, with PP almost in minority in Pact of Toledo, is one of most complicated moments since he arrived at Moncloa. Relieved Catalan crisis, real problems have begun to explode in face of government. And that of pensioners, one of fishing grounds of popular vote, constitutes most unattainable challenge.
